MuniFin began its AI adoption with IQI’s practical training programmes

To improve internal efficiency, MuniFin set out to strengthen its employees’ AI capabilities. The collaboration originally began with Kumura, which has since become part of IQI.

To make the most of AI, MuniFin commissioned three training programmes for employees in different roles:

• The first training programme was designed for employees responsible for projects and development.
• The second was delivered to the entire organisation and focused on using AI in knowledge work.
• The third was held as part of the Executive Management Team’s development day.

The trainer was IQI’s Mika Purola, who delivered Finland’s first AI training courses focused specifically on the needs of project work in autumn 2023.

Practical AI training focused on tangible benefits

Lammi says MuniFin recognised AI capabilities as an important professional skill, particularly with the future of work in mind.

“The training focused on fundamental skills and prompting. Without the ability to prompt effectively, it is difficult to get much value from AI.”

Lammi praises IQI’s training for helping participants understand the principles of working with AI. It also helped shift their perspective from treating AI as a search engine to seeing it as an assistant that can make their work more efficient.

“The training got straight to the point through practical exercises. This kept the participants engaged and helped them quickly recognise how they could use AI applications in their own work.”

AI training provided a strong foundation for the Copilot pilot

Lammi praises Mika Purola for his clear, confident and calm approach. Employees could attend the training with confidence, regardless of their role or previous experience.

Following the training, MuniFin launched a Copilot pilot led by Lammi. The pilot has demonstrated the importance of mastering the fundamentals. Employees have been confident enough to experiment with the AI application, while information security considerations were already clear to them when the pilot began.

“This is exactly what we wanted from the training: the confidence to experiment, examples of useful applications and a clear understanding of how to use AI securely. We achieved all of these objectives, so we are very satisfied with our collaboration with IQI,” Lammi concludes.
